the sound of science heard recently in Sacramento
"The Festival of New American Music is now underway at Sacramento State University, and one of this year’s headlining acts is exploring something a little unusual with his performance: the intersection of music and science."
Majel Connery and
Live at the Starlet room on December 15
Praised for her unique vocals and dreamy, genre-defying music, Bay Area troubadour Majel Connery is making her Sacramento debut in December!
Her music has been called “thoroughly Schubertian” by the Wall Street Journal, and her voice “crystalline” by the Chicago Reader. Most recently, Connery wrote songs about porn, periods, and sad fish for five episodes of Radiolab’s “Gonads” series. She is currently touring her debut EP, Anything Chartreuse.
Hannah Mayree is a creative facilitator and musician who's work and art lends itself as a tool for redesigning and reconnecting to our roots as humans on this planet. A banjoist, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Hannah shares harmonies through acoustic live vocal looping and reminds us of the empowerment found in our relationship to the earth, music and community. She is the founder of the Black Banjo Reclamation Project: Cultural Reclamation through Reparations ~ Cultural Revival Through Community.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door on the day of the show. More info can be found on Facebook.
