Eileen Downey, piano

Eileen Downey received a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a Master’s Degree in Collaborative Piano from Michigan State University. She is currently Lecturer of Piano at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where she is a vocal coach and collaborative pianist, as well as a rehearsal pianist for Knoxville Opera. She spent the summers of 2013-14 at the Brevard Music Center as chorus master and vocal coach for the Janiec Opera Company. She was previously a member of the adjunct faculty at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX, where she also frequently collaborated with the Texas Christian University School of Music. Ms. Downey is an alumna of the Merola Opera Program, and was one of the 2011 staff accompanists for AIMS in Graz. Other programs in which she has been involved include SongFest, Project Canción Española, Aspen Opera Theater Center, Opera North, and the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy.
